Just checked the school on IMED-Faimer dat org. This school just open this year (2012). Why they're opening more schools when there's less residency spots?

I couldn't agree more, I am actually curious as to how many people will be applying to this school or what will be their class size.

Unbelievable, you would think the craze would be over. I'm curious to see how they're students will do with clinics and residency.

This school will get you to the board exams etc., but I'm concerned because it's so new, and established amid a volatile medical community now. @09invest, did you look into other established programs in the Caribbean before choosing AUS?

    Change your plans?

There are more than enough challenges inherent to studying medicine overseas without adding the inevitable problems and growing pains of a new school to the mix. It is already expected to be tougher for FMGs to match than ever before within a couple of years, if the ACGME and AAMC are correct... why make it even tougher on yourself?

(I am not trying to bust on you, I am just giving an honest opinion. If you cannot get into a US MD or DO program, there are plenty of Carib schools that have actual track records to choose from. There will probably be a few of those that are more than happy to take your money.)

To be honest, I didn't know much about these Caribbean med schools, I graduated from high school this year and I'm from Africa. Right now I think it's too late 'cause I have committed and paid my tuition and housing fees. I got into another med school Avalon and St George's but I couldn't afford the tuition so I guess that's what made me choose this school
