    Control of School

    Advertisements

We have seen several new faces come and go in administration, since the founding of Statia. Are the two new principals in Texas the new owners? I am still a bit confused about the move to Texas. Chris

Hey, Its a new school. I'm a 4th semester student and proud of what education I have received. Sure here and there things could have been better, but its a Caribbean School, NOT US Medical School, so we have to make the most of it, ultimately its USMLE STEPs that matter most. Up to you to do it.

Hey Lapustea-No need to get defensive; I'm not being overly critical; change can be a very good thing; I just don't understand much about the new guys and their roles (although they look very qualified).

    Transfer Interest

I am thinking about transferring to Statia after I take Step I. We have no real clerkship program at AUA. I am really concerned about school stability after reading the posts about new offices and new people on this forum. I talked to a really nice guy at the NY Eustatius office about 6 months ago about transferring. So, what is the scoop and how stable is the school?

I wouldn't worry about stability of the school. The NY office is very good at what they do and they're not going anywhere. Any worries that you have can be taken up with them or feel free to PM me.

Look at the updated webpage of SESOM

Not too much changes, after all:
The offices remains in New York.
The chancellor is now the president.
The president is now a consultant.
The updated web page does not include any principal in Texas.

    St.Eustatia still belongs to NY

Do you think for a NewYork minute that those Democrats in NY will give up their Caribbean Med School to the Texan Republicans. They're just too politically correct @ the NY office, making a deal with the contemporary utilitarians from the white south. don't get offended but we do have two souths. any way back to preparing for Step 1 etc.

    The south

    Dear Friend,
I was raised in the rural south and lived there until entering medical school. I would like you to go visit the south before you start saying there are two souths or anything like that. My small town was diverse, We have blacks and white and gasp! they lived and worked together! Growing up my friends were white, black, south asian, east asian, middle eastern, native american and latino.
Don't say ignorant things. I think you should go live down south and see how it is.
The governor of New York along with the last two mayors of the city have been Republican. The majority of the states down south actually have more democrats registered than republicans. Again don't say ignorant things. You are supposed to an educated person.
