    Private and unsubsidized loan consolidation...

    Advertisements

    Hey fellas,
    I'm half way through med school and was wondering if you ppl could advice me whether I should consolidate the private loans (medachiever and health xpress) and the federal unsubsidized stafford loans. I thought of doing it earlier when the interest rates for federal loans went up, but decided against it for some good reason that I don't remember now. Also, I received a letter from one of the consolidation companies saying that Federal govt. has passed a bill that wouldn't let students consolidate while in school starting sometime soon. So, I'm thinking about consolidation, but would like to know what you all think and would do. Also, which companies offer good consolidation rates?

    Cheers...

    so they were good reasons huh?
    consolidating is worth your while big time.....the thing is you cant consolidate private loans, only federal loans such as the staffords.....stick with a bigger company like sallie mae or any other reputable company that has been in existence for a long time and didnt just start up when consolidating became possible

    private loans

    Actually, I just spoke to Sallie Mae yesterday and they said they would have a private loan consolidation within a couple of months. Sounds sweet.
