I'm a first-semester student living in Arbor Estates. I'm not sure when they were built, but I might guess it was before 1994. I'm living in a studio apartment that has a bed/living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and walk-in closet. It's a good-sized place, definitely more than I was expecting. There's a community pool which is pretty nice-- it's got a nice view of the lagoon. The complex is definitely within walking distance of campus, and I know of a few professors who live here (probably some other students too). The only negative comments I have are that it could definitely be a little "nicer" (you'll quickly learn that many things on St Maarten could be "a little nicer"...), and of course, there's a professor who claims he's seen a stray monkey running around, but I can't say I've ever seen it...

    Yep

Don't doubt the monkeys..... sad thing is, there are lots of humans running around with less intelligence or productivity.....

    Monkeys, Monkeys

I thought the "monkey sightings" were in Pelican Key? I know for sure there's a pair of them at Turtle Pier...

    Aloha,

    monkeys are real

Seen large monkey with my own eyes in my back parking lot area at Tradewinds.
it is a vervet monkey and if you research this you will find there is a growing population of this monkey species mostly 'Green vervet' in the leeward islands especially st. Kitt. The one I've seen has now been seen by others so take care, as this monkey made an aggressive posture toward me as I moved quickly away. Apparently she may have been protecting little ones.
