I wouldn't recommend Henry for an engine problem.

Really, I wouldn't even use him for an oil change again.

My friend and I wanted him to change the brake pads and rotors on our Jeep and change the oil as well. So, we gave him a $150 deposit on the parts.

When he brought the vehicle back, he said he had only done two of the wheels and he had an invoice for $160 for parts. In addition to the $160, he wanted 150 more for labor because the job had taken him 3 days. Also, he told us that he had replaced the brakes on the right side of the vehicle rather than the front or back. I just thought the whole thing was ridiculous and I wouldn't recommend him to anybody.

Unfortunately, I have no other recommendation for a mechanic.

I always had good experiences with him and his work. That's really weird.....
Maybe the work was more than he thought!?

I'm on my 5th semester and I've tried almost all the mechanics on the island I think. So far the best I've found is Gilbert, #523-5951. He rebuilt my transmission and it is still working several months later, so I still use him. But, I know someone who also had a tranny rebuilt by him that didn't work.. but I still think he is the best bet for anything major, or minor. He's a nice guy and seems to know what he is doing.
I've used Henry before, and I can't understand a word he says. Besides that, I don't htink he really knows how to fix anything and just pretends to.

I wouldn't imagine that it is. Any mechanic in the states would probably spend less than an hour on this job.

HA! see, that's your problem... this isn't the states..... :P

Look, people are going to have various issues with islanders to some degree. I've never had a problem with Henry but who's to say for the next guy. We're all having individual experiences.

Personally, take my advice..... pull down your pants and slide on the ice....
