Scribes are student made notes. Meaning a student or a bunch of students got together and transcribed the important points of a professor's lectures, especially for classes like physio where listening word for word in the lecture is important for the exams.

You get them by either creating them yourself, from a friend, or being chummy with others.

Here's my advice on scribes.... There are good scribes and there are BAD scribes. But, for Physiology they are essential (along with class notes and BRS Physio...they have it in the Library). It's a good idea to make friends with some people who are in the class before you (and make sure they get decent grades.....) and you can get their scribes. BUT BEWARE: Certain classes go straight off of the teacher's notes for example Path I, Med Psych and Neuro. For these classes if you use scribes and not the class notes, you will fail the test. Another caution. Don't get the scribes and then just skip class. If you read your scribes along with the lecture, you'll know if you have a good set of scribes or bad so still go to class.....and yes at times it will be painfully boring, but just get some of that crack coffee they sell at note service and you'll stay awake lol.

there are always errors in the good scribes so buyer beware. ask around upper semesters for scribes. i'm sure some of them have them.

    good scribes?

I was hoping some of you who used scribes in Physio I and did well in the class could tell me which scribes you used. There are a lot out there and I would like to get ahold of a good one. Thanks.

As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

The scribes I had were good, they landed me in the mid-80s and I never went to class. Don't remember which one they were though.

i use the ones with the figures and the graphs that were photocopied with the scribes. there were a few errors on there, i think like 3 or 4 but it helped me do extremely well on that exam. i supplemented that one with the scribes that were on a word document. those were helpful as well but they miss quite a few things so you have to fill in a a few details that the professor mentions in class.
