now that i made that final trip home to the states, its starting to sink in that everything i was familiar with at sxm is over.

it really hit me hard saying goodbye to everyone last night. i will miss everyone.

How was your experience. . . good then I take it? And, how long did it take you to get done? Anyways, congrats on doing what you have done so far, and good luck for what you do in the future.

i started in may 2004. i was on the island for exactly 20 months, but i went home for breaks and i took off some days in the middle of some semesters to go home as well.

although when you are on the island, you can get worked up easily with "island experiences", for the most part it was fun. the friends you will make there will make life go down there much easier. it almost becomes one big family since it seems like you are all in it together.

i have no doubts about my time spent on sxm. it was an experience that i will cherish for the rest of my life.

You made some life-long friends. I just got an e-mail from our (me and da wife's) old roomates that they had yet another child. Always fun to think about the old times. G

its weird, a place you can dislike so much while youre there you miss so much once youre back in the states. I would give anything to be able to walk the 1/4 mile to the beach and play volleyball with the guys or lay on the sand with the woman.....it definitely was a great experience down there

and as for your exam.....study hard the next few days and taper off that last week. The last 6 days read FA and goljan HY.....the last day go over whatever you want but take it easy and the night before relax and dont open a book. The exam is not as bad as you think. During it and after you will feel like you got beat up and you'll probably think you failed but that's completely normal. I've said a few times on here the only thing that kept me sane for 3 weeks was starting the same night i wrote my exam to flip thru FA and mark everything i had a question on.....I remembered a good 80% or more of my exam that way and it really helped to remember questions i got right bc when you sit there thinking you only usually rememember questions you got wrong. You will make stupid mistakes, forget about it and move on. Bring your FA and look something up during the breaks if it will make you feel better.....Also, bring energy bars or drinks just to give yourself a little boost.
