    Mcat & Auc

    Advertisements

I have studied the basic sciences at another off-shore medical school and I am applying to AUC as a transfer student...I have never taken Mcat...Does anybody know how important is Mcat in my situation considering that I am eligible to write USMLE step I at this point...The reason I am saying that is that SGU admissions suggested that I should take Mcat before I apply to them!!! Please comment, Thank you!

why do you want to transfer? auc will probably only take you if you were from either sgu, ross, or saba and are not transferring because of failures. although you said that you are finished with basic science which would lead me to believe that you didnt fail. if thats the case, i think auc would still make you come to the island to do the bbcm and icm course for one semester.

i have no idea about the mcat though.

I want to transfer because my school is not yet recognized by the CA and some other states medical boards. I have passed all my basic sciences with a good standing and I do not mind to take the AUC's 5th semester as it is a review of the basic sciences and I don't mind another opportunity to go over the basic sciences...The question: Does AUC admission require MCAT in my situation or not? Thank you for your reply!

I may be wrong but in order to be eligible for Ca approval all your medical schooling must be done at a Ca approved school

and as far as i know yes they require the mcat

Transferring to AUC will not make you eligible for Cali. licensure if you attended a school not approved by claifornia. You would have to start from the beginning again. That is why it is so important for students to go only those schools approved by calif.-AUC,St. Georges,Ross, Israeli ,Irish, Australian schools.

    ca/mcat/transfer

saba is approved by CA also and doesn't require the MCAT at this time, but you have to complete all your schooling at a CA approved school
    Damn it, Jim....

Again, what Jerry said...if you've attended any part of your medical education in an institution which isn't Cali approved, you won't be eligible to practice in Cali. Transferring won't help you.

    Aloha,
