I don't live over there but I do know some people that do. It is nice, close to school, and safe from my experience. However, you have to be careful about who your particular landlord is. Some of them will not fix things when they break and won't refund your security deposit when you move out. Before you make the decision to move in with any landlord, ask the person that is showing you the aparment to introduce you to another one of their tennants or give you a contact number for one of them. If they are reluctant to do this, I certainly would think twice about them. Also, don't trust the housing office at the school. The guy that is in charge of it tends to take financial incentives from people to send students their way. Don't let that worry you, though, getting an apartment is pretty easy and the school offices are extremely trustworthy with the exception of the housing office.

True mitch. The housing office was worthless in my opinion when I arrived sept 2003. All they offered me was a little piece of paper with names and phone numbers of the landlord. The lady who used to work there was nice at least but I got some sense that the guy in that office was not really wanting to help the students. It was strange but you have to belive your gut at times that some people were not genuine in their heart.

I had to go out and did hunting for my first semester orientaion student last January. I had just arrived from a long trip back home and was so tired with jet leg but I had to go out and find her a place to stay. She was totally hopeless with her housing deal did not go through with dorm and it was getting dark and her lugguages were heavy as rock, which I had to carry them all.

Now I hope they have changed and do better job for our new students.

    See ya.

    Whoa....

I lived in Cote d'Azur Marina for 2 years, and I can definately tell you there are problems with at least one of the landlords. The lady who managed the three apartments next to ours was HORRIBLE. I am not playing. You do NOT want to end up with her.

On the other hand, some of them are quite good, and some of the apartments there are top-notch. But like all the other places there, it is a target for criminals.... be careful with your stuff, and ALWAYS lock every entrance to your house.

Drop me a line if you are afraid this lady might be the one you'd end up with, and I'll let ya know who she is. It's against ToS to bad-mouth her publicly on here, unfortunately.
