exam schedule is out but it is not blocks. each class has exams about every three weeks. each semester is different. you only have one exam scheduled on one day but you do have classes those days.

    The

only positive thing I liked about blocks was no class for two days. It was nice never being behind after a few exams. However, it sucked trying to keep up on a day to day basis.

    blocks

Does anyone know how each semester did with blocks. I mean I thought everyone was doing so badly due to them. I haven't heard anything about mass failures...in fact I hear NOONE failed Anatomy??? I know second semester there were only a few failures in some of the classes. About the same amount that has happened in the past....So maybe blocks were not as bad as everyone thought?

    Blocks

    Hey neighbors!

I'm surprised you guys dropped the block exam thing! I mean I know it would be hard to get used to, but wasn't the idea to get you ready for a full day of testing so that the USMLE wouldn't be such a shock/drain/killer?

Was there anyone at AUC (student-wise) who supported the block exam deal?

A couple of semesters ago Saba completely threw our exam schedule into a fan when they decided, mid-semester, to go completely to computerized testing. Mass chaos for a few weeks there, but the dust eventually settled.

Ultimately, I was just wondering student opinions at AUC on the block exam issue. Please, nobody tear me a new one....

Count your blessings that you don't have block scheduling for 3rd...

No. Main purpose of the block exam as stated by the Dean was to boost overall class attendance.

Yes. The second (soon to be 3rd) semesters' class voted for majority in favor of block scheduling. After seeing the new exam schedule for Fall 2004, the 1sts (soon to be seconds) are wanting the blocks back.

Block exams can work if given due time and concessions made to both students and faculty, however, that delicate balance was not acheived under the now-rescinded block scheduling. Most people I know did not outright oppose the block system but wanted to see it modified so that it actually benefited the students as a whole. Glad to hear things are working well with the computerized testing "nextdoor".
