Information about AUC scholarship which extends into clerkship

    Advertisements

    Hey guys,

I just heard today that there is a scholarship at AUC that extends into clerkship years. I am not sure if this is true or not but I heard it began last september. Im a current 4th semester still receiving the renewable scholarship and I am wondering if anyone has received this "new" scholarship. If someone has can they let me know how that works and how much it is etc. Thanks alot.

I've heard it's 5Gs per semester and 2.5Gs for the last half semester. Has it changed from last year? Also, as a fellow Canadian I was hoping to get some insights from you as I'm coming to AUC in August. Feel free to e-mail me at drmaror at yahoo dot com

    Cheers.

Yeah Im not sure. The one I have is 6K for the first 5 semesters but it doesnt extend into clinical years because they started that semester after I started. Well if you have any questions Id be happy to answer them. Cheers

I'm a buddy of Nads...not sure if you know him but he left the island this past semester. I'd love to get your take on which places are good/lousy to live and if you know of any Canadians coming to AUC in August. Cheers.

Oh yeah I know him. Did you not get a room in rez? I live at Rainbow Beach Club right now and its really nice. But it is expensive. I am moving into aventura because its alot cheaper for my last semester. Other decent places would be cupecoy beach club, campus village and tradewinds. All depends on what you want to pay, everywhere is alot more expensive than back home..unless your from toronto. I don't know anyone personally coming in september but from the group I have seen there are a few canadians atleast. I would expect there to be atleast 10 in your class.

Didn't end up getting rez. I've heard Rainbow is the lap of luxury indeed. Thanks for your advice on the other places. Yeah, I'm from Toronto so I'm used to getting the skin ripped off my back. What price do you think is reasonable to pay if I don't want to live in a pooh poohhole, but don't need the best of the best? Do you think that living a bit further off campus (i.e. places like Beacon Hill) is a bad idea in the long run?

Well anywhere within walking distance your going to pay between 1000-1200 plus utilities. I like living close to campus because its convenient and then I don't need a car. So i'd say its personal preference but I definitely didnt regret paying more to live closer to school.

Great, thanks. I'd think I'd rather live in a nicer, but smaller place. Is a studio liveable? How much can I expect to pay for a studio in Cupecoy BC or Rainbow BC?

Yeah if you don't need much they are doable forsure. I am not sure if any are available anymore. Places go really fast here, so I would look to sign a place really soon. I know the studios at rainbow are 1400, overpriced IMO. I tried to get a place in cupecoy beach club for next semester I think they were all rented out, so i got a single bedroom apartment in aventura, its nice and only 1000.
