I got dismissed from SGU and looking to attend AUC in the fall as a first termer. Should I disclose this info on my application?

    Thank You

You have to. If not and they find out later, I would think that would be grounds to dismiss you.

I'm not sure you'll be able to transfer laterally between 2 very similar schools. I haven't met a single transfer from SGU here. I think most people who get dismissed from one of the big 4 go to Antigua for the most part. I rarely hear of people getting dismissed from SGU, this is surprising news. It sounded like they really hold your hand the whole time at SGU and not many of these kinds of stories originate from you guys.

You must absolutely for your own sake disclose this info. It will come to light through financial aid or some other means. Terrible idea.

I have a friend who was on loans at SGU and was dismissed whereby entering and graduating from Ross. He never disclosed being dismissed from SGU and successfully graduated while still on loans. He is now a pgy-3 at an academic hospital in the midwest.

That's rather incredible. Almost as if Ross couldn't care less that he was dismissed. Perhaps when you have 50% of the incoming class there getting dismissed, source of the student really doesn't matter.

It's in your best interest to disclose your dismissal. Things spread quickly at AUC and people would find out sooner or later. That said, you're likely not going to get in. As said, if you get dismissed from one of the big 3, you typically have to go to AUA, statia, or one of those schools.

Agreed. You're best off telling them. That story of the Ross student is a rare exception and is not a good way to approach a decision like this.

If you begin from the very beginning Med1 AUC might consider your application providing you have a strong personal statement. Its worthwhile phoning the school and finding out directly the school policy of accepting dismissed students. But please be truthful with any school you apply to failing and dismissal are not crimes but willfully not disclosing such information will be seen to be so. Good luck

People are dismissed from SGU all the time. They are really getting tough on those that decel or fail esp if they are on academic probation. This can be seen in the current thread in the SGU forum about the person that failed by a by a point was dismissed.

Not as much hand holding as you might expect.
