So the class representatives announced AUC wants to now regulate students' online activities with a "Social Networking Honor Code."

We don't need a second Honor Code. Educating students about the hazards of their posts online is one thing, but AUC has no right to police the free speech of its students.

Perhaps the proposed policy was introduced with good intentions, but i don't like the door it opens. New rules aren't needed when the ones in existence are more than sufficient. This is not a good trend to set.

Don't be. SXM says 'jump', AUC asks "how high?" How do you think basic students ended up with Nagico?

Well, it definitely had nothing to do with the health and well-being of the students, that's for sure!

But my vote was it was another money-making scheme set by the admin once the economy started going sour.

Nah their economy isnt sour they are admitting more than ever and charging more than ever

If you are really worried about this, just set your account privacy to the strictest settings. You can restrict access to any information on your profile (including pictures, videos, wall posts) to specific friends/yourself only, if you so choose.

It is probably a good idea to do this anyway since, under the default settings, facebook profiles are freely searchable in google.

these types of things are becoming more and more common. This year my hospital/training program just enacted similar social networking guidelines, etc.
