    Where to live next semester?

    Advertisements

Hey guys, I'm a first semester living in the dorms. I have to get out of here after finals and need to start looking for a place to live next semester and am having trouble. Everyone says stay away from solutions at all costs. I'd like a place within 2 mins of campus. It seems like every place either gets broken into (trade winds) or is too far from campus. Solutions don't care about students and keep their deposits and never fix anything. What would ya'll reccomend? I'd like to pay 1400 or less per month total, with utilities. Thanks in advance!

Is Beacon Hill too far? More like 7 minutes I guess.

I think Beacon Hill is 7 mins *by car*. So that's something to consider.

Try Premier Real Estate - their office is located down the hill from AUC, on the stree opposite Atlantis Casino. They rent properties out in various buildings near campus and I've never had any problems with them.

Alternately, you can obtain a housing list from the school's housing department and that way you'll have a list of all the housing available to students around the island and you can just pick places close to AUC and call the owners/companies and set things up.

My roomie and I went with Premier and have been happy with their service. The management is reliable and friendly; they usually take care of problems within a few days.

Read that sentence again, and then think about how sad it is that this is considered a fairly decent compliment for an island business.

Agreed, better days than weeks, I suppose.

I lived in Campus village my whole time at AUC with almost no problems. The only problem we really had was with our water heater, which had to have the coil replaced at least once a month.

As long as you actually deep-clean your apartment and are courteous, you'll most likely get the majority of your deposit back - and in cash.

I lived at Rising Sun for a year and it wasn't bad.

<1 min away from campus. Rent is $1050/month excluding electricity.
