What type of background check do carib medical schools do?

    Advertisements

I know this seems like a sketch question, but I'm not trying to hide anything just to try to make a decision. I've been kind of flaky at work lately, and they want to put me on a formal disciplinary plan. It's not as bad as it sounds, basically its just like probation for the next few months.

It will, however, be on my permanent employment record. Would this affect my transcript? I have two choices, either resign and not get this on my official employment record at the cost of an awesome LOR from a pretty well respected pHD, or ride it out and shape up at the cost of my record.

Also, would this affect the ablity to get a job in the future? I will talk about the issue in my personal statement, and was hoping to spin it in a way to emphasize improvement instead of focusing on the negatives.

    Thanks

if it is employment records it is not a big deal. auc does not check employment records. it checks for criminal background check, i.e. what you been arrested for

If you fail at AUC, SGU, or Ross why not transfer to SMU, if you fail at SMU, why not try another SMU.

to the best of my knowledge they only do a criminal backround check. They expect you to go to your local police department and get a letter proving you havent been arrested/convicted of anything. I dont think they care much about you record in the private sector. I wouldnt go advertising the fact that you have been slacking at work, (ie dont call the main office asking questions about how in-depth the check is, this would raise all kinds of red flags).

And it's not really a background check.. It's basically a random requirement for the island.. Anyone moving there has to jump through the same hoops. But the part that makes it so pointless is that it is a local background check. That means that only Felonies that you have been convicted by your local police department will appear on the "background check". And you get it from your police department yourself so they just hand it to you and you can see if you've done anything wrong according to them.

And I don't know if they would be able to reject you even if you had some sort of record.. I'm sure thats up to the islands policies. I would refer to the SXM government website for more details if you think that is going to be a problem.
