    Grade replacement?

    Advertisements

    Does AUC replace grades with the higher grade of a repeat class (like AACOMAS / DO) or are the two grades averaged (AMCAS / MD)?

    Thanks

    Sorry guys this is my first time posting and I left out a ton of info to the previous post.

    Major: Biology 3.54 cgpc and 3.6 sgpa with only one C in college in an econ class
    minor:chemistry

    I took the Mcat in August and i'm waiting to get my score back however I'm supper nervous. I don't think I did that well and I'm estimating it to be around 18-20 I'm taking again in September.

    How will it look if my MCAT score didn't improve much and what are my chances of getting in?

    Suggestions, comments are greatly appreciated! Thank you in advanced!

    Unlikely to get in with 18-20 mcat even with your good GPA. You will need a minimum of 22+ mcat to have a shot.

    Almost finished with my application just have to work on personal statement. So here is the age old question...WHAT ARE MY CHANCES???
    applying for Fall 2012
    cGPA=2.91
    sGPA=2.76
    MCAT=22P (1st time)...waiting on results from my second time (studied a bit more this time so hopefully a 45)
    Decent upward trend and last semester with 4.0
    6 LORs from 4 phD professors 1 md and 1 BSN clinical instructor, volunteer hours, etc.etc.etc... Oh and worked ranging from 20-50+ hours weekly as full time student with 206 credit hours and only one degree (Came pretty close to taking every class offered on campus LOL)

    jjs4348.....You need a 26+ mcat to have shot since both your cGPA/sGPA are below average.

    jjs4338,
    I think that since you are working and volunteering, it will help out with your application. Also, if your letters of recs are strong then that will help out too. Be strong and keep your head high. If things dont work out, doing a post bacc or masters program can strengthen your application.

    Just a word to the wise.....few of us here on VMD have too much real knowledge about the admissions process....I advise everyone to take anything here with a grain of salt.......
