    I applied for the May 2010 slot. The person on the phone said they made their decision, putting me on the waitlist and would let me know in 2 weeks. Thats a little confusing to me because isn't a waiting list a long time thing that extends until the full application process is complete? It seems they "didn't" yet make a decision yet because they told me they would let me know in 2-3 weeks. Isn't a waiting list something that you are put on in case someone decides not to come to their school to cover for the extra spots? I also was wondering maybe its because I applied very early according to their website. I applied 9 months before the semester starts, when they recommended 4-5 months. Thanks for the responses!!!
    I've never heard of students being put on a waiting list for AUC... not sure what that means.

    Perhaps this means that your application is complete and now they are "waiting" for a decision? I remember it took them 2 weeks to respond with a decision after my application was complete.

    Good luck

    funny thing is, they told me to send an email to them saying I wanted to stay on the wait list. I got a letter 2 weeks back saying they would let me know in 2-6 weeks. Today was 2 weeks and they said they made the decision, and it was to put me on hold and let me know in 2 weeks, I am confused.

    I was just thinking but if someone starts in Jan, takes courses during the summer then when they start their clinical rotation that would be at the same time that US MD students start. Correct?

    Jan= basic sem 1
    May= basic sem 2
    Sept= basic sem 3
    Jan= basic sem 4
    May= basic sem 5
    Take the USMLE
    Sept= start Clinicals

    is this right?
    [ ] Apply
    [ ] Island
    [ ] Clinicals

    You think I should just call my advisor and ask whats going on? A wait list to me is something your on when the class if full. May is not full at this point. I am thinking maybe its because I applied really early and they want to see what else comes in?

    They told me to send them a confirmation stating I would like to be placed on the waiting list. This is really weird and confusing. I think I am going to call my advisor there and ask whats going on.

    Not quite. The May semester (sem 5 in this case) would end in mid August. Most people take right around 2 months to study (could be longer with a prep course, could be shorter for the more prepared). So that would put you at late October for when you actually take the exam. It takes 3 weeks for them to score it and send you your grade, so end of November-ish you would be able to set up your rotations.
