I will start @ AUC in aug 06. Does anyone have good advice on how to study and review board material, simultaneously, during first semester?

Yes, study long, and study hard. That is the best advice I can give.

Oh, and make sure to memorize every word, diagram, and chart of your lecture notes and be able to relate everything back to each other.

    What NOT to do

The key to memorizing: quality over quantity. Stick to the lecture notes given to you in class....it's high yield information. Don't try to study lecture notes on top of trying to read multiple books...too much info will get you confused.

Keep a positive attitude.. you gonna fail some tests, your gonna put your heart into studying and get a C, or worse.. It will take some time to learn how to study efficiently. MarylandGal had the right idea, Quality is greater than quantity. Ask other students who finished the semester, they can be a good help. The TA's in anatomy class are a great asset, they have been there too and are you fellow classmates. Good Luck and start off RUNNING.

Along the same lines, did anyone here seek the help of tutors? And if so, could you recommend which classes you found tutors helpful for? Did they give inside info or pass along old tests (are there old tests floating around out there) My student advisor is a genetics tutor and she sounds very dedicated to her role. Thanks for any help
