Good luck dude. I don't think you need to be nervous. I did interviews with both SGU and Ross.

None of the Caribbean schools are going to be rough on you. It'll probably be more like a conversation, and they'll be trying to sell themselves to you. So, just sit back and enjoy being in the the drivers seat.

Also, I haven't experienced any of the bad-mouthing people say goes on between the schools. All of the admissions counselors I've talked to have been very complimentary about other institutions.

If you could post your interview experience that would be helpful to prospective students. What kind of questions did they ask, etc.

    Thanks and Good Luck!

    My Interview Experience

I interviewed on Monday (2/27) With Dr. *****, Dean of Students over the phone. It was a total disaster.
I had recieved my interview offer by mail the previous Monday, and I was told to call Dr. ***** to schedule an interview date. I left three messages on his office phone (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) without any reply. I also emailed him for good measure. Finally, on Friday, he left a message on my phone to interview with him on Monday, and asked me to call back to confirm. I called him and left a message saying that a Monday interview date would be great.
On Monday, I waited patiently by the phone for him to call me for the interview. Then I realized that our messaging had never specified who should call whom to begin the interview. So three minutes past the agreed-upon interview time, I called him, and he was annoyed at having had to wait three minutes by the phone. I replied that we had not specified who should call who, but Dr. ***** insisted that he told me to call him. Great.
Not wanting to start a meaningless and self-destructive argument, I asked him if we could start the interview, and we did. It lasted 22 minutes, half of which I was off-balance from the rocky start. He asked me to explain poor grades in my transcript, and he asked me about my family and my girlfriend. Surprisingly, he did not ask me why I wanted to become a doctor, nor other typical medical interview questions.

Well, my interview is done, and it seemed/appeared to go really well. It was more like a conversation than an interview, which was relaxing to me. He asked me how it came about that I wanted to be a doctor and we discussed things about the island. It didn't appear that he had any clear worries which I was thankful about. The one thing that I think he wanted to ask me about was what I would think of living on the island since I am from a small town in ND and that is a long ways away. Anyhow, it went really well for me I felt. I feel he was more gaging what type of person I was than anything else. If I had any advice to give anyone else it would be to be patient, don't call too much, and be very polite. I will know for sure how it turned out in three weeks, but I got the vibe that I can at least be hopeful and if not this time, another time. He even started to talk about what I should bring if I come. Anyways, I hope this is helpful to some of you. I hope to be there in May, and I will let you know when I find out.

By the way, I found the interviewer to be helpful, he was just very busy which is understandable. I think some mistake being busy for being rude. That is something you need to be careful about.

Do the best you can, and if you need to, go back and do more course work and retake your MCAT if you don't get in. Persistance is the key for getting into and making it through medical school.

Well, I have been trying to limit my putting of personal info on here lately but I had a 26N on my MCAT, and about a 3.3 GPA. My biggest weakness was lack of experience when it came to volunteering. I hope I get in, but I will only know for sure once I have the letter in hand.
