I've heard that you need to goto the ticket counter and ask the 2 airlines what prices they've got or else maybe call the 800 #?

Go to Airfrance.com. It'll all be in French, but you should be able to find a flight for well under $1000.

Ok, well I checked again yesterday, just for kicks. Airfrance wants in the neighborhood of $800 R/T to Paris at the end of April and KLM wants $1100 something R/T to Amsterdam at that same time. So, for one person Paris would seemingly be doable over the break...

When you go to airfrance.com, click on "France site" then you can scroll down on the airport list to St. Maarten, Princess Juliana. Again, it's all in French but you can figure it out. Also, when the first price comes up that's one way, and then you have to go through a few more screens and book your return flight. Like ds-in-tx said, you should find them around $800, I've gotten them as low as $600 before.

I've heard of seat sales being as low as $400 sometimes, but then again, I couldn't personally verify this. I was told to get that kind of price, goto the counter or maybe check around the local travel agents and ask.

    Europe tickets...

This topic has been covered before...I went to the ticket counter for air france and KLM. The cheapest tickets I found were $740 for round trip in April or October (you have to spend 7 days there). These were only offered for the months listed and only on certain days. Other than that, I had her check every freakin month of the year on weekends, weekdays etc and no other cheaper tickets were found. You can always try again at the ticket counter though...
