Heard about it a bit when the school first started - the trimester system. I think it was integrated within the trimester system to teach students how to learn rather than cheat. Looks like they are reintroducing it. Looks very shady - way for the school to make money or to curb cheating.

How is this program different from the BSEP apart from the online component? And how is someone chosen into one or the other?

BSEP - Basic Science Enhancement Program is offered through the American International College of Arts and Sciences in Antigua (AICASA). AUA has an articulation agreement with AICASA - students who successfully complete pre-med or BSEP at AICASA and do not have conduct unbecoming of a medical school student are welcome to join AUA College of Medicine. BSEP consists of three to four undergraduate level courses plus labs. These courses are designed to enhance the foundation of students who are otherwise qualified for the College of Medicine but academically missed the admissions mark by a point or two. Students not eligible for direct admission to COM are automatically considered for BSEP with their existing COM application.

BTMD - Bridge to MD - is a 17 week hybrid program. On successful completion of the BTMD program, students are invited to AUA College of Medicine. Students spend the first and last week of the program together in Miami, FL. The rest of the coursework is performed online and at prometric assessment centers located throughout the United States. This program has been designed for students who represent the traits of those who may become outstanding physicians, but were denied to AUA College of Medicine for academic reasons. Students must submit a separate application for consideration to BTMD following their AUA COM decision.

Pepsatrap- I think you're thinking of Extended Basic Science (taking a reduced COM course load) , or Block Courses (dropping a course mid way through and making it up over a 10 day break) - neither of those are offered at AUA COM any more.

The BSEP students do not have labs, although the premed students do

You learn a lot from this program which i believe will help in medical school... if you´re dedicated and willing to learn you will pass.. it honestly depends on you.. the teachers do not fail you just because they want to...

Depending on your situation in life you may not want to take this program. The director is disorganized and for someone who is trying to balance work with school it can be somewhat difficult. Not everyone can do this program the curriculum itself is flawed due to the fact the classes are 5 weeks only as opposed to 15 weeks which means you are trying to fit 15 weeks of biochemistry material into 5 weeks and it is not like this in med school. If you are from the states there are no student loans for this program or school. You must attain a personal loan of 12000$ basically with a 10.25% interest rate being your best option. The bridge program does have a deal with medical school to allow students who pass the program to go directly into the school, but right now it does not seem worth it especially since the school is having financial issues.
Raise your gpa and retake the mcat best option.

Financial issues? are you a current student?. But that might be why they increased the tuition too.
