Did your transcript indicate it was done online? Sorry to hear about this. Which class was it for?
FYI Purposes Only: I'm in the process of my post-interview waiting and recently found out that AUA does not accept online labs as credit. They do accept the lecture portions online, however all lab courses have to be in person.
Just a fair-warning to anyone out there enrolled in online courses.

Online courses are not accepted by the admissions committee for the Science pre-reqs (Gen Bio I&II, Gen Chem I&II, O Chem I&II, Physics I). Lecture included, I believe. They're fine for everything else and will be considered in your overall GPA.
lab and online don't fit in the same sentence
you're dumb for paying for an online lab course

Yeah, lab is more procedural. Can't learn much online. Hard to learn the nasty smell of Bromine online, or to be a milli sec too late on stopping a titration. Definitely understand AUA stance on this.
Why would AUA not accept courses such as this?
University of New England - COM - Online Education - Online Organic Chemistry I
UNE is a US regionally accredited university and medical school.
To put everyone on the same page, AUA will allow one major substitution for the pre-requisites. One can take Biochemistry WITH lab in place of Organic Chemistry II with lab. Some students will do this and it primarily depends on their home university/registrar. As you may know, a number of American medical schools allow this substitution as well.
Now in response to the last post, the admissions committee WILL accept this online Biochemistry course. However, if one is planning for the aforementioned Orgo II/Biochem swap, you will need to take a separate biochem lab. The University of New England Biochem is lecture ONLY, as the syllabus states. That is the issue. If you are taking the four credit class just for medical school preparation, it will be factored into your cumulative GPA.
The Admissions Committee policy is that they will not accept online/virtual lab courses. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you.
I have some followup questions to the above post. Given that UNE's online biochem is in fact a non-lab class I am curious about their other online science classes that do in fact include a lab. Courses such as this which state, "The course is a one semester course with a virtual laboratory that emphasizes those aspects of organic chemistry that are relevant to the study of human health and metabolism." If these courses are acceptable to a US medical school and this school is regionally accredited (the gold standard of schools) then why would AUA not accept it?
