AUA Does Not Accept Online Labs

FYI Purposes Only: I'm in the process of my post-interview waiting and recently found out that AUA does not accept online labs as credit. They do accept the lecture portions online, however all lab courses have to be in person.

Just a fair-warning to anyone out there enrolled in online courses.

And what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this information? Change AUA's Admissions Committee decision-making? If so, not likely.

If AUA is wanting to be part of the mainstream academic world then it behooves AUA to subscribe to normal standards.

The "normal standards" of the US schools that accept online labs or the "normal standards" of the US schools that don't accept online labs?

The normal standard that US school not online accept online labs but offer them. Can you demonstrate otherwise or is it just your say-so?

What? My statement is pretty clear: some US schools accept online labs as prerequisites for admission, most US schools do not. Which of these two groups do you believe better represent LCME standards?

So if there are definitely LCME and AOA accredited schools that accept online labs then why wouldn't AUA?

Answer the question please. Should AUA follow a minority or majority opinion?

Could you please expand and clarify about "online/virtual lab courses"? I teach online courses and the students do experiments at home using lab kits from eScienceLabs.com and Hands-On-Labs. None of the labs are virtual in the sense of just using a computer. Would my online courses satisfy the lab requirements? I would be happy to send you syllabi and to answer any questions you may have.
