If you havent cheated your way through AUA and you passed all your shelf with 64+ you will definitely pass the comp without even studying. I scored 72+ on all my shelfs and didnt even study for the comp and got a 74. Why didnt I study? because when the helk are you going to? its on EVERYTHING and you get like 3 days, so I just did a practice exam each day for 2 days and thats it. if you know your stuff you will pass.

There is no time to study for comp. I remember trying to soak up the beach my last couple days on the island, and my family was there for white coat. The comp tests every single thing you learned in the first two years. It's impossible to study for.
I completely agree with IwanabMD. As long as you passed all you shelfs you're go to go

Is one of the best way to study for the Comp, is to do question banks? Just to literally go through thousands of questions?

Thanks for advise. I passed all my shelves honestly..highest was 72 and lowest was 62. I been doing uworld questions everyday but this past 2 comp have been soo hard. I called the NY office to get the average for them and they seem not to have it...and ask if people are passing...answer I get from them can not tell you that info...Just wanted to know if people were having the same situation.

ya i can understand....trust me! im in the same boat. sometimes i feel its a crap shoot lol who knows! but from what i have heard and seen, it doesnt really matter whether u pass this or not. ppl have passed this comp and failed the step. some dont pass it (as previous students didnt have to pass it) and do well on the step. dont let it get you down

The reason so many people fail is because they cheated by. Seriously, if you know you stuff you will pass. If your really earned your shelf scores I would bet that your comp is not lower than your lowest shelf. Also, it is easy to crank out 600 questions for prep, just for 1 practice exam a day (200 q's) for 3 days. this is only 4 hours a day, piece of cake. and itll prepare you for the testing stamina needed for comp, because another issue is people burn out and rush the end.

I did the comp last year and what I noticed is its better to try to pass it on the island. I didnt prep for the comp on the island which was a fair comp if I had prepared I would have been fine. Studied alot for the one in 5th semester which was brutal, which I passed. So my advice prep and pass it on the island itself just doing questions is fine. If you have passed your shelfs without cheating you will be fine when you prep by doing questions.
