Current/Past AUA students: What is your opinion of this school?

    Advertisements

What do you think of AUA in terms of academics? Did the curriculum help you pass the USMLE?

If you had to start all over, would you consider attending AUA?

    Yes

Absolutely. I did well on my steps, am getting ready to match, and overall there were headaches on the way, but worth who I've become.

Be careful on this website though, there are a fair share of trollers and it has become a place for people to vent. You might want to find AUA students some other way....

mkulob: could you elaborate a bit on the "headaches"? Any suggestions for potential students?

if you serious about applying, then contact the head of admissions..he will pass on emails of real students whom you can contact by email, many whom are willing to answer your questions over the phone. that should solve many questions you may have

In addition to med school classes, you would have to study on your own using (FA, Kaplan, and/or UW). I think the US students are better prepared than the FMGs/IMGs. If you are so concerned about the boards, then try US MD/DO schools.
Although you did not request this piece of info, it is important for you to know. The problem with AUA is that clinical rotations are limited; hence, many of us have to wait for a while for assignment. This is a big factor to consider and probably the most important.

Don't rely on the suggestion above alone. Those students that the head of admissions will put you in touch with are chosen for a reason. They hardly represent the average AUA students struggles. Not sure I think this would be a sampling bias
