    Are the lectures recorded?

    Advertisements

I don't mean to clutter this forum w/ a new thread, but nobody replied to my post in the basic science thread. Are the lectures at AUA recorded so that students can re-watch them on the internet? I've heard that some schools do, like ross w/ mediaste. Also, what is the schedule like first semester? It actually seems kind of light, w/ just anatomy, histo. I am not implying that its easy, but compared to the second semester which looks a lot more dense w/ biochem, phiso, genetics, and neuro.

When I was there nothing was recorded. There were a few people that might have recorded them on their personal recorders but there was nothing official.

1st sem is anatomy, histo, and dps. Its going to be your easiest semester. Med 2 is going to be your toughest.

There are video lectures available for one of the professor's of anatomy, I found them very helpful. They're only available for 2 of the chapters though. I know that most of the professors allow you to record their lectures with your own recorder, if you find that helpful it might be a good idea. Histo is all about paying attention in class and learning the pictures well.. sometimes they put bad quality ones on the exam. DPS is painful. Don't take DPS lightly.

Med 1 isn't that bad, I'll be able to tell you about Med 2 next semester.

We actually have a class capture system called "Echo 360" that is supposed to be implemented over the summer. This will record lectures and allow audio/visual to be replayed, similar to media site. I will stop by the CTO's office tomorrow to see if he has a time frame of when this will be available. I'll get back to you.

Hi, sorry for the delay...things have been busy here in New York & I just returned from a pre-medical conference in Niagara Falls.

I was told by the CTO that we should have "Echo360" class capture initiated for Fall 2010. I'll ask tomorrow about it being available in certain class rooms; however, I imagine it will be utilized for Med 1 - 4 lectures. Again, let me see if TG has any updates.
