    Question regarding housing

    Advertisements

I wanted to know how long you're required to live in the campus dorms? Is it just for a semester? Also is there a loophole for this?

but there's no way to get out of student housing? i've heard it's much cheaper to live with the locals.

If you're married with kids you should be able to get out. If you are a local, you can get out. You have to stay in for at least 1 semester. Sometimes if the incoming class is really large, the school will offer you to apply for a wavier so you can opt out of a 2nd semester of housing. But it isn't guaranteed and again, depends on the class coming in after you.

u can request housing for the entire stay in Antigua, but it is not guaranteed (but very likely you can get it) You can try and weasel your way out of 1st semester housing (by complaining a TON and saying you have a child or something) however I suggest you do not do this because you should spend a semester learning the area before you try and find housing. You can get a real estate agent to show you places while your in MED1 for a place to live duinrg MED2 instead of getting stuck somewhere with a 1 year lease you did not get to check out beforehand. You dont wanna be kicking yourself when you find somewhere better to live once you get to the island.

    assigned Utopia

Got my bill today and I am assigned to utopia, my third choice. Do they have single or all double rooms in this complex. Do the rooms here have a kitchenette, private bathroom, etc.
I more or less need to know what to pack or bring. Thanks

Not sure about your first question, when i lived there i had a whole room to myself, but i think they changed it after i moved out. All the rooms have a kitchen. Theres a separate bathroom for each room (e.g. 3 rooms in a unit = 3 bathrooms in the unit). I guess if you're sharing the room, you would also share the bathroom with the same person.
