    Manhattan Office

    Advertisements

Well I've personally visited the manhattan office on several occasions and every time I go there its the same thing.... wait for this, now wait for that... there is a lot of waiting but at least you can usually get done what you need to (oppose to getting nothing accomplished over the phone). But my 2 recent visits have just really amazed me. I am posting this for Woodward to read and I know of some other higher ups (COO) that read this consistently as well. THE NEW YORK OFFICE is full of incompetent and rude people. ALSO, I CAN NOT BELIEVE you moved the clinical coordinators down to antigua. OK so Dr. B is in Antigua and he wants staff there... SO KEEP 1 or 2 coordinators in the U.S. and 2 in Antigua. HOW am I suppose to call Antigua everyday. It makes no sense and it makes it 100 times easier for them to ignore students. The entire 10th floor of Wall St is for the AUA admissions department. Anyone on that floor will NOT help a current student. AN ENTIRE WALL ST FLOOR being paid top dollar for by the school WILL NOT HELP ANY OF THERE STUDENTS (RIDICULOUS). I always get sent to the 5th floor (of course AUA would own 2 floors on wall st - our tuition at its best) and on that floor there are like 6 people - the clerk and ONE (not 10,000 like admissions) JUST ONE person for every other department. OK so anyway, nobody can help me with what I need, and especially now that Im there for clinicals and the clinical people are in Antigua everyone just tells me pretty much to go back home and call. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, I came all the way to NY to discuss with a person face-to-face about my education with AUA that I pay a lot of money for and I can't do that? Seriously... no one there wants to help at all. There are only 2 women (TL and JJ) that actually will do something for you... every time I would explain my situation to some random staff member that I came here and wasn't leaving until I got something down I would be directed to one of these two women. SO basically all these employees dont do jack and just TL and JJ have to help out all the REAL problems of 1000's of students, no wonder its impossible to help your students. I'M SO DISGUSTED WITH AUA'S LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. I am a strong student - 3.9 GPA and a 230+ step score and ALL AUA does is give me the run around.

not saying that it's okay for them to be rude to you, but them moving the coordinators to Antigua is old news and has been posted on here before. you probably should have double-checked that before you made the trip.

before they moved the coordinators down, i know of plenty of people that went to NY in hopes to get their clinical situation figured out. you're not the first...some of the problems were fixed, others were turned away and told that they coordinator won't see them today.

welcome to clinicals my friend, congrats on the awesome score, you deserved it. sucks that now you're going to have to suffer like most. i have two friends, one passed her step end of october, the other in november and they haven't started yet (just to give you an idea). in the meantime, work on transferring to a US school, i know one of the students who transferred to NEUCOM, also try SJB if you can speak or learn Spanish. a friend of mine with average board scores and average GPA just got accepted for transfer. otherwise, take a longggggggg vacation and don't expect to get your clinicals figured out, even if you did very well on the exam.

wait time for clinicals according to DocP mentioned above are right. two of my friends have passed their step in november and their first rotation will begin in May (one of them has 99). it is sad that you got treated like this even after you have invested 100 k in this school. I bet if you were new student going to AUA, you would be impress by those same staff.

We were told that the school was getting new contracts. I would like to know what happened. The next class to finish 5th is one of the largest, I would like to know what happen at that time. I really hope for my sake that they figure out something soon.

    This is scary!!!

After getting so many of my questions on KMCIC is answered (encouraging results), I am afraid to send my kid to this program as the clinical rotations is NOT STRONG with AUA. We spend so much of money for WAITING and get frustrated?

Just with the Basic Sciences degree from KMCIC OR AUA, are there any other institutions will take you for completing the MD? Even US universities won't consider your application for regular Masters program in Science. I think MBBS option in India OR SGU option (6 year MD) is better option.

In my opnion. If you are with AUA right now your best option is probably to stick it through (Unless you can transfer to a US school...which most cannot).

If you are accepted by AUA....tear up that acceptance letter right away. Simply not worth the headache. DON'T FALL for FALSE promises. Most of my friends and I did. Remember 'saying' is not the same as 'doing'.

I would be happy to respond if you will post again with a coherent, intelligent and factual recap of your visit to NYC, or you may send me a private message, and I will email you directly. While you may be justifiably (or not) frustrated; your post is immature, inaccurate and inflammatory. I won’t respond to rants filled with personal agendas, inaccuracies, gross exaggerations, innuendos, spiteful personal attacks and accusations. Try displaying some of the professionalism you say is sorely lacking at AUA.
