    Cali update

    Advertisements

I remember seeing a few threads over the last few months asking about the status update with Cali. I sent an email over to PP (California Board) on the weekend and this is what she said :

"We're making progress. We're still in the paperwork review process with
AUA. Correspondence has been going back and forth between us and the school relating to our Medical Consultant's review of the school's paperwork. The site inspection is still unscheduled at this point, and I can't predict when we'll move to that phase."

...... Hopefully things work out for the school (crossing my fingers)

Does anyone know how it would affect the current students if there, for some reason, some headway came through about California before or after we attain our MDs? I just want to know if we would be granted the same stature as the classes at the time California goes through, should it happen.

Nobody knows the answer to this question. That decision would be made at the discretion of the California medical board. Historically, they've gone both ways. In the case of Saba, students who had graduated within 3 years of the board's decision were grandfathered in. Hopefully that'd be the case with AUA, but nobody really knows. We can only hope that AUA has dissected every line of the CA board's decision at SMU (which is available on the CA medical board's website) so that none of these same mistakes are repeated.
