    Assistance with AUA Interview

    Advertisements

I just received an e-mail that informed me that I have been selected for an interview and that I would receive a call soon. Does AUA only offer phone interviews or can I request for a personal interview?

Also if anyone could provide tips or information on the types of interview questions asked, it would be greatly appreciated.

i had a phone interview. It was pretty informal.

be prepared to answer questions about your C.V. & personal statement.

if you have low GPA/MCATs then be prepared to explain that and how you will prepare to do well in medical school.

& of course WHY you want to be a doctor.

most everyone is fine, just be social, hold a convo, etc...

    goodluck

I had my interview in the NYs office on wall street. Just know the basic questions. Like why u want to a be a doctor, why not a pa or an rn, why AUA vs others..etc. It was very relaxing n lasted about 50 mins. So just be your self. GL!

    Thanks for all the feedback

So i just had my interview.. I thought it went great my interviewer was a chill guy.. It was laid back not too many questions more conversation as you said. However, the questions asked were more geared towards my academics. I barely got to speak about my extracurricular work and the experience it provided me, which I was hoping to do so they won't focus as much on my MCATs. As the interviewer said my GPA is great but my MCATs are a problem (because I told him I also applied to ROSS SGU and AUC when he asked me about other schools). Now I'm worried that because of my MCATs I won't get into AUA now lol even though they dont require MCATs, because the interviewer kind of went on about my score. I don't know if he was trying to motivate me to do better and apply to better schools.

    my stats as follows:
    cGPA: 3.56
    sGPA: 3.3
    MCATS: 22 P (7PS 6VR 9BS)

    Worked as a pharmacy tech
    shadow experience with two doctors
    worked in doctors office
    some volunteer work

with a GPA like yours, AUA should not even be on your list of schools to consider. study hard for the MCAT, get your score up a little bit and you have a shot at US DO schools and the top 4 caribbean schools

It depends where you are in the country. The Director of Admissions assigned to you will contact you to make specific arrangements.
