    States that follow california list

    Advertisements

As a lot of people are applying, I think it is of interest to compile a list of states that follow the california list. As far as I know...
Tennessee, Mississippi, Indiana?, Arkansas-which is under litigation.
If anyone can confirm, or add to this list it may help our fellow students that are applying...if I find more I will post them here.

There are about a million and a half threads on this topic. Do a search its basically all that is talked about on these forums.
Well, he's had it in for me ever since I "kinda" ran over his dog. Actually, replace "kinda" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Don't forget Texas, it may be a case by case basis, but it can still be a real pain trying to get your license. And if you go to any school that disapproved by another state, Texas won't grant you a license.

I'm just verifying with the collective knowledge out there that aua is not on any dissapproved list. We are only not on cali's approved list, so if you think your case is strong, texas is still in

I think there's a decent amount of people that will have our program lists effected by california following states for unrestricted licensure...if there's any states I'm missing let me know.
I know that NS promises that we are in process of applying for california, hopefully we can hold him accountable to expressing an anticipated timeline. If there are any SGA members or ADMIN people reading this, I think the student body is highly interested in being apprised of how close we are in the california process. If Tipton or anyone else could relay this to admin, I think it would help a lot of students out, instead of completely being in the dark of precisely where in the process we are.

If anyone doesn't believe AUA began CA's approval process in March 2008, contact Sacramento. I'm sure Ms. Park would be happy to verify this.

An "anticipated timeline"? Who could possibly give you this? The last Caribbean school to successfully complete CA's approval process did it 4 years ago. Since then the process has changed dramatically. How could anyone "anticipate" anything which has little if no precedent?

If you want "precis(ion)" create it in your own mind after understanding how the process works through research into the history, regulations and procedures of CA's approval process.

I understand there can be dramatic variability, but I trust NS and many other people within AUA are VERY sharp people that know what they're doing. I'm researching as much as I can, but if there is any insight that can be disseminated to the student body that may be helpful at all in terms of the steps taken along the process, I know we as a student body would be appreciative. I can sympathize if they don't want to disclose specifics, but if NS or anyone can disclose a general idea it may be good for students interested in the process. I say this having great confidence in NS and his capabilities to take the proper steps and his ability to do everything by the book, and this is a stab in the dark but I believe NS has the wisdom and experience to speak to this with significant credibility.

Thank you in advance for any clarity you can bring to this Tipton, and please understand that this is a crucial issue that effects the long term plans of many alumni's goals to practice in various states.
