    Late Registration

    Hey,

I was just wondering if someone has a very legitimate excuse and is not able to come back on the day of registration and has to postpone it due to extenuating circumstances, will they still charge 500 dollars per day that they miss? I am in such a situation and I am trying to get an appeal in my case. I spoke with the local AUA admins on the island and they said it has to be approved through the NY office, is there anyone who has faced a similar situation? and if so, did they even take your situation into consideration or just flat out denied you?

    Thanks

If you bring in the limb that you're having amputated, then they might let you off without having to pay the 500 bucks. Otherwise, be prepared to shell out the cash. Call the NY office now and ask if your excuse would be approved.

Be persistent. I had the same situation (I had to attend a funeral), and initially they denied it, but I kept bothering them, and eventually they approved it. So don't give up if they cause trouble, that is their modus operendi.

The person that you need to contact with regarding this matter is the Dean of Student Services in the registrar department in the NY office. You would have to contact her via e-mail, that is the only way she takes the requests. Call the NY office, and they would be able to tell you who you need to contact.
