    Med 2 Shelf Advice??

    Advertisements

Hey everyone, I'm in Med 2 and I'm having trouble focusing on what to study for the Shelfs. It all seems like so much information. Do any upperclassmen have suggestions or advice on how to study? The ones I'm most worried about are Biochem and Physio. Thanks!

neuro is pie if glasser does his shelf review for you, otherwise just make sure you know all ur tracts in and out. biochem is also easy if you know ur lippincott... the biochem mini's are at par if not harder then shelf (this is 100% true, anyone who denies it... lies) however everyone seems to do pretty decent, and remember shelf scores are curve based, so even if you think u did well u may still come out with a grade in the 60's. Physio is well.... hard and everyone comes out thinking they failed, but again sehlf scores are curved based and really no one fails and many people get high 60's when they thought mid 50's... I watch kaplan videos and read most of guyton... and came out with a 78, there was a decent amount on the shelf that I have been learning in path actually(cough:reynauds phenomenom and kinase testing for MI) go figure.

Just make sure you get really angry at someone/something before going into the shelf. I have gotten angry every time I have taken a shelf exam, and I have done well on all of them, so that is proof that it works. The more angry you are, the better you will do.
