    Acceptance Rate/Chances

    Advertisements

Just wondering what the acceptance rate for AUA is. My gpa sucks 2.6 from my jr. college (thats retakes factored in) and my gpa from texas tech is a 3.4-5. My last 80 hours or so were at tech. Maintained a 4.0 in my last 72hrs. Don't quite know my cumulative is, probably 3.0ish. I also have 11 w's, please dont judge too harshly on that, I found out I suffer from pretty bad depression a while back and got medication for it and pulled off that 4.0 in those last 72 hrs. The depression really affected my first 3 years of college, but I didn't know there was anything wrong with me until I talked to a doctor about it. Sorry if this makes me sound crazy. I've also done the typical volunteering and shadowing and I have quite a few extra curricular activities, political organizations, pre med clubs, health service organization, and a psychology majors club. I haven't taken the MCAT yet. Do I have a shot at all? I know US allopathic schools are pretty unforgiving. Oh and I do have one D I havent retaken on my record and thats an advanced economics course and I dont know how bad that will look. And for my pre req's

    Bio 1 - B
    Bio 2 - W -A
    Chem 1 - C - retaken A
    Lab - A
    Chem II - W - A
    Lab - A
    Orgo I - A
    Lab - A
    Orgo II - A
    Lab - A
    Phys I - A
    Phys II -A

    Thanks for any help!

Varies....I interviewed on a Tues and had a response by Mon the following week. I've read on VMD where some people waited weeks. Tipton can probably best speak to the average timetable though.

Normal turn-around time is 2-3 weeks after your interview. Closer to the beginning of the semester the Admissions Committee will meet more often which shortens the time to get decisions.

Please keep in mind that once your interview is complete you are now at the back of the line to get a decision behind all of the other students who have interviewed previously.

During your interview you should casually mention that you intend to pay in cash. It can only help your chances!

Yeah. Do that. I guarantee you'll be denied.
