    Is AUA accredited by Virginia????

    Advertisements

Hi. I was accepted for the FALL 09' semester. I was at a party last night, and it has come to my attention that Virginia has not been accredited. I just want to confirm this. If it isn't, well that changes everything for me. Can someone please respond? Thank you.

I'm pretty sure Virginia is still considered a British colony by the AUA Accreditation Council on State Accreditation (AUAACSA).

Technically, Virginia is a commonwealth as is Pennsylvania.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but here is a general guideline regarding state licensure (I still can't provide a URL b/c the board won't allow it until I've posted at least 20 times). Look for a thread entitled "Application Question" by FrankStarling on July 24, 2008 (AUA forum).

Check with the Virginia state medical board or equivalent and see if they have any problems with Caribbean schools or AUA in particular. It shouldn't be difficult to find this information out.

You should certainly double-check this on the official VA Dept. of Health website (Virginia Board of Medicine Forms & Applications), but the last time I heard, Virginia is quite IMG-friendly and does not follow the CA list.

actually, i'd do what others say and do your own research (calling the Virginia state medical board etc). the school isn't always up to date with licensure issues.
