    AUA admins = sneaky snakes

    Advertisements

OK so as we all know the loan situation has been screwed with, along with housing in order to make AUA's pockets fatter, I mean "help the student". They decided that (post loan situation meeting) and like 5 weeks before the next semester starts.... they have decided to RAISE tuition almost 1,000 US, after having raised it already almost a 1,000 US last semester. Basically, the snakes running the show at AUA decided that their new living furniture is worth squeezing 6 students into an apartment designed for 2 and then making them all live on rice and beans for 16 months. AUA admins who are reading this or having it forwarded to you by someone in the NY office, I applaud ur ability to really "care" about the student and achieve it in the absolute sneakiness way possible.

I received an e-mail from them about this, lets take a look at their reasoning:

    Dear Students:
The economic events of this past year have created significant challenges for all individuals and Universities alike.

Exactly, WE DO NOT HAVE loans readily available to us thanks to a global financial crisis. Therefore the logical thing to do would be to help us poor students out and lower tuition, right...right??

Many institutions have found themselves with limited or no resources to continue or implement much needed improvements and programs to keep up the pace with today’s demands of a quality education.
Well the above definitely doesn't apply to AUA.

It is with this understanding that The American University of Antigua continues its pledge to you, the student, by continuing to provide the highest quality and competitive medical and nursing education at the most reasonable tuition and fees possible.
So lets see, we have less resources available to us so to make sure the AUA admin's pockets and lavish Wall Street offices aren't affected, we'll screw you, the students some more! Ha!

These important academic programs and faculty improvements do require a slight increase in tuition and fees however and we hope you understand that these increases come after much deliberation.
LOL..raising our tuition nearly 8% is a slight increase.

The University is very cognizant and sensitive of the high costs of a quality medical and nursing education, therefore we have reviewed this increase very seriously.
I'm sure the conversation went like this:

Pink Pants: Listen guys, my mansion in NY needs a new tennis court and swimming pool. Plus the Jones's just purchased a new Maserati and I can't let them get away with that! What do we do?

AUA admins: We've got it!! We'll remind the students about the financial crunch and how we're striving to be a better school by sticking 2 of them in a room barely big enough for one and raise their tuitions..hahahaha! This should be hilarious!

Pink Pants: I love you guys!

We have done our utmost to keep this tuition increase as modest as possible. As a result of that review the schedule of tuition rates for the May 2009 semester is as follows:
    Program: Tuition (per-semester)
    Nursing $ 6,579
    Pre-Med $ 6,579
    M.D.
    Basic Sciences $ 10,632
    Clinical Sciences $ 12,094
    Translation: KA-CHING$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The best part of that email was the address of the person sending the email.

    "Two Wall Street, 5th floor"
