    Personal Statement Advice

    Advertisements

Does anyone have advice on writing my personal statement? Not really sure what to include.

For instance if I had a crappy grade or bad semester do I list why, etc?

    any advice appreciated.

No you can save that for the interview.

Talk about yourself and what is inspiring you to become a doctor. Write about your future plans after med school. Or you can write about an inspiring event in your life, or inspiring person.

Just some ideas, but there are A lot of things you can write about.

You might want to mention a bad semester as long as you also have a good way that you turned things around.

Other than that it should be both specific and general: specific about why you are pursuing medicine and general info about yourself which indicates you will succeed.

Speaking of plagiarism in personal statements: we catch it. Saw one last week in what would have been a perfectly normal application. No AUA for you!
