    Which course???

    Advertisements

I am a transfer student coming into fourth-ish semester in a couple weeks. I have 4 courses remaining: Path 2, Pharm, Neuro, and Behavioral Science. I'm not comfortable taking 4 courses in 1 semester (3 courses is a full load) but don't want to be in the Caribbean for 2 more full semesters. I've heard that they often offer classes in between semesters. I called the main office and the antigua campus and nobody knows which courses will be offered in the post-January-semester block in April. They wont even tell me which courses are most likely to be offered. They just say that nobody will know until midway through the semester. Just wondering if those of you "in the know" could post the courses which are usually offered between semesters. Thanks, guys/gals!

Cliffs: Which class is most likely to be offered in the between semester block in April? Path 2, Pharm, Neuro, or Behavioral Science?

yo, neuro and behavior are being offered as a block on the 27th of this month and behavior will be offered again after next semester......

my suggestion would be to see if u can get into the dec-jan block and take out one of the blocks, my choice would be take out neuro w/ Dr. G..... class isnt that rough, but u can get it out of the way, plus if u arrive a day late, as long as u take the tests and pass the shelf u are done.....behavior block wants 100% attendence

i took both blocks and if i had to do it again, neuro block and behavior during semester......

assuming u get thur 4th in one piece, u want to get back to the us with time to get ready for 5th.....

    thats my 2 cents

They aren't letting me in to the Dec 27th block because I am not registered and have never been a student at AUA in the past. Do you think they would let me take 3 classes next semester, behavioral in the april block, AND the comp before starting 5th semester in may? Also, if there are any school officials who could comment on my situation, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the input guys. Please keep it coming.

Neuro is a pre req for behavioral. So my suggestion would be to take neuro, path2 and pharm during semester and then block behavioral because chances are it will be offered.

Unfortunately, I'm probably not as smart as you.

A block course is a course that is offered for about 10 days in-between the semesters. Typical block courses offered are behavioral, histology, and genetics. Usually Immunology is offered, but this time I guess Dr. S. didn't want to do one in December. And this December is one of 3 neuroscience block courses that have been offered.
