Is there a website or licensing phone number to call to incontravertibly determine the status or MD graduates to obtain licenses? I keep hearing california etc in the forum, but would like an original source if anyone has one? Also is there a %/type of residents generated found anywhere online? Thank you, hopefully this may help fellow colleagues that are as ignorant as myself.

State licensing boards usually have a way to either lookup or request licensing info for MD's practicing in that State. At this point AUA simply lists the number, type and hospitals where our graduates have gained Residency positions.

its best to get the information directly from the various boards because it affects you ultimately.

    Accredited States

My impression is that if California recognizes a medical school, then that virtually guarantees accreditation in all 50 states. If California does NOT recognize a medical school, then that school will not only not have accreditation in California, but the other states that follow California's accreditation list. DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS LIST OF STATES? I'm assuming that they are all states in the Western US near California.

Now, with AUA, I know that it does not have CA accreditation. Therefore, AUA grads can NOT practice in CA and those 10 or so other states. However, AUA DOES have accreditation in New York. And I think it has accreditation in Florida. Based on this, my impression is that AUA grads can practice in all of the states East of the Rocky Mountain states, including the entire Eastern seaboard, the Midwest, the South, and the Plains states. Can everyone agree on this??

It would really be nice to have a definitive list of states that AUA grads CAN practice in, as well as can NOT practice in.

States that follow the California list include: California, Arkansas, Kansas, and a several more. For Texas AUA is case by case basis. Texas has an medical school "equivalence list" which AUA is not on. Also, AUA grads can apply for California licensure because AUA is on neither the approved or disapproved list currently, but the chances of getting that are fairly low.

Ill find the post sree posted once if I can find it.

No. Clinicals, Residency and Licensure in California are not possible unless/until AUA (or any school) successfully completes the Medical Board of California's approval process. No 'case-by-case' licensure in CA.
