My interview with AUA is coming up soon. Any advice? Also, I was accepted to St Eustatius and St Martinus. Any input on which school is more accepted? Thanks

On your interview just be yourself and don't worry. I would recommend to do a search on past questions they have asked other applicants so you will be prepared. These three schools aren't really "accepted". Only the top 3 carib schools are kinda recognized: SGU, AUC, Ross and still it looks bad since it is the carib. But yes I would rank AUA above those two schools that you have mentioned.

When it comes time for residency, no one who interviews you will have heard of any of the above schools. But, AUA has better clinicals and therefore will open more doors. You can make more and better connections, that way.

Do you think a person from a Caribbean school like AUA has a shot at getting a residency at a place like Cleveland or Mayo Clinic, or any other real top places like Hopkins? I mean, if all steps are phenomenal, great LOR, excellent CV etc...do you think the school you graduate from really matters?

There was a rumor that a student got a residency spot at the mayo clinic.
There was also another rumor that this student knew administrative members so he or she were given the opportunity and was lucky....
It might be about who you know....
Does anyone know more details about this?

Yeah...I thought so: "Just a small sample of the fine hospital settings where Sint Eustatius Students have or continue to participate in Clinical Clerkships:"...meaning: a SESOM student did an elective there. Not a SESOM Clinical Affiliation.

I see, wait so does this mean they don't have clinical rotations there?

It means a SESOM student probably did something there, maybe even an Elective Rotation. What it does NOT mean is that SESOM has a contract with them for all SESOM students to rotate through there. Of course I may be incorrect. But if SESOM was able to secure a contractual relationship with a place like the Mayo clinic don't you think it would be front and center on their website rather than buried?
