    My Chances!!

    Advertisements

Hi guys... I was just curious about my chances in getting accepted to AUA. My GPA is about 2.9 overall, and same for my Science GPAs as well. I am a biology major so most of my classes were science based. I volunteered as EMT, and have a lot of other experiences. Hospital, red cross, and so forth. Did not take the MCAT, and I live in Atlanta. What do u guys think... ???

I think you have a very good chance of getting in. We also just recently got Atlanta for 5th semester which should be good news for you.

Yea you should be golden. However I think you should take the MCAT, get your GPA up to a 3.0 and try D.O

if you really want to go to Medical School, i suggest that you put yourself in that basket and apply, dont worry you should be in, you have done great from what i see, MCAT Is not required, they. I took the MCAT, they never asked me about it in my interview....Good luck...see you on the islan in AUA.

I think you're good for AUA. Just keep in touch with the admissions counselors through email or phone, their contact info is on the AUA website. They're really helpful and nice and will give you good advice.

I say you have a good chance for AUA too... Go accepted last year with GPA of 2.6 from Rutgers U. BUT with a lot of other things... hospital work/volunteer/shadowing CME, research, etc...

im from atlanta too they conducted an in person interview with N J W. who was the SE rep as of jan 08 when i was accepted. they may or may not have you retake some classes or try putting you in extended. do not go into extended and if they ask you or of they mention anything about pre med or extended (which they might to get another couple semesters tuition out of you) tell them your here for med school "basic sciences". 1st semester is easy with 3 classes anat histology and intro to med school called DPS..... live it up then bc second semester is no joke!

at least if you need to drop one class or two for second semester you have that luxury whilest not being in extended program.
