Biochem Shelf: First Aid, BRS, WHAT???

    Advertisements

It is about time to start studying for that hideous exam. I have heard people say first aid has everything I will need to know. I have heard people tell me to know BRS. I'm not sure what I should focus on. Any advice????

for shelf, you should go into it knowing the 50 pages in 1st aid for biochem. On top of that, use lippincott's. If you have BRS and not lippincott's, that's fine too. Do practice q's as well either from BRS or pretest. All that should keep you busy for awhile...

Study the 50 pages of the First Aid USMLE book. Then when you're not reading that, watch Kaplan videos. Watch them over and over again, the new ones with Dr. DS who has a Ph.D. in biochemistry. Watch them over and over and over again. The Pass videos are very good too. I watched both set of videos and studied first aid USMLE and walked out of the shelf thinking "it wasn't so bad."

I Second that. Lippincott was golden for the BC shelf. Not First Aid though, I think it's too vague and basic, but the mneumonics are good.
