    Just accepted Now some questions

    Advertisements

Well like I said I received my acceptance call yesterday (3.3 gpa 3.1 science B.A. in economics minor in chemistry for those who are wondering) and I am curious as to how the loan process will go. I have a score of 715 on equifax... Is that good? Should I have any loan problems?

Also I am defering until January because obviously 1 day is not enough time to get to the Caribs...

Can't wait to get down there and get started!!!

Excerpted from a recent FA email:

As mentioned previously please keep in mind the lenderís loan eligibility criteria:

∑ Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00

    and

∑ Students must meet minimum credit scoring criteria, including a minimum FICO score of 650

The Financial Aid Office will work with the student and lender during the loan process, however, the University can not guarantee the results of the lenderís approval process or that funding will occur prior to registration.

Recommend you contact the FA office for specfic questions and timelines for applying for loans.

thanks for the response jgil... Has anyone with a credit score similar to mine had a good/bad experience with the loan situation? I called my advisor today, but everyone apparently is now traveling to Antigua...

Give the FA office a few weeks to get through registration and then contact them with your questions. You likely cannot apply for January loans this early. About six weeks before the start of the semester, you should get an email from FA giving you the specifics of applying.

GPA is not required for loans.

I am not sure how stating my GPA is showing off? Well anyways, any answers to loan questions from your guy's experiences would be greatly appreciated!
