I wouldn't say renowned by any means. It's not Harvard, Hopkins, or Oxford. I do know it's much newer, I don't know if anyone has ever obtained a residency from this school yet and they are not well known. Best bet if you HAVE to go Caribbean would be to go to a more known school like SGU, AUC, Ross, or SABA...even AUA and SMU are viable options.

American International Medical University is recognized by the Ministry of Health Government of Saint Lucia and authorised by the Ministry of Education. The operating entity is incorporated beneath the laws of Saint Lucia. Primary functions of this organization embody medical and nursing education, analysis and government coaching programs. It has a great scope and the students are well trained in AIMU.

Nobody is questioning if the school is FAIMER/WHO recognized and/or has a charter from St. Lucia. Not even questioning if they provide a good education. The problem is notary which this school does not have. Program Directors will always be more leery of school's they aren't familiar with and having a school that is much better known helps.

I read on these forums the owner of the school was arrested by St. Lucia authorities on a whole host of charges. I don't know the details but if that information is correct this might not be the best choice of school.

    This information is correct----very true
    served him right
he allowed an associate dean to pass students who had failed exams and harass teaching staff in addition to expressing racism to local students
he had a vp of operations that did not have a clue
