Is it true that Dr. *** is the same person as John McAllen as claimed by one of the AIMU students?
Is there a wait in between clinical rotations for AIMU students or is it uninterrupted and in one hospital only?
Can an AIMU graduate practice in the 48 states (except New York and California?)

I have so many questions since I will be visiting the school on Oct. 27, 2012 and I don't want to make another mistake in choosing a medical school here in the Carribean. Just like you, I am doing a career-change and I'm in my late 30's even though I was in the medical field years back then went into the processing industry as a microbiologist.

Thanks for any piece of info you might be able to provide.

    Sorry for the late reply.

AIMU does not have clinical rotations with WAU. They do provide clinical rotations in Atlanta.

No one from the school is doing residency in the US as far as I know. Some of the students are doing rotations in the states.

There were some excellent teachers and some really substandard ones. The admin was quite an interesting thing there. Dr. *** is a unique character. Some of the students stories are definitely scary.

I would recommend that you move to another University, when you can.

PS - some of the reviews that are so extremely positive about the school either are not from the students or they are paid to write them

Go somewhere else. Pay donation and attend an Indian university instead. here are very limited facilities...hardly a proper microscope..There is not even a computer lab...and the library is hardly any good as a resource..There are some courses where not one reference book can be found...There are alot of lies said by the administration and the school fights down any student that offers a challenge or question what they say. I think it is best to work in an environment that is conducive to your learning and this is not a favorable choice. In addition to the almost no facilities, there is a great lack of training for their students. There are students who only learned how to do Bp in MED 1. I faced chastism because persons from other areas who had just finished pre-med knew way more than I. I believe that if a school is going to send you to work on an international scale, they should provide you with an edge, and AIM U does not prepare you at all. There are other schools such as Spartan and IAU which are better recommendations.
