If you call the Florida Board of Medicine, they will probably say something like I never heard of that, no that's not true, and they will tell you what is true. Clinical rotations require your International Medical School to be approved in Florida, but they do allow occasional rotations with the proper paperwork. |

Yes, we do have seats available for the may semester, but you are really at the end of the alloted time to submitt docuemts. There must still be an interview, package mailed to you containing your presumable placement, immigration documents submitted to us, and then our submission of your docs to the Immigration Dept.
Please submit any applications and supporting documents by the end of next week.

My understanding of Texas, per Denise Meyer of the Board and their website, is that you can do residency in Texas, under a training permit. Licensure would be on a case by case basis. Realistically I do not believe it would happen. Texas does not have a specific list, only a list of schools that do not have to prove their program is "equivalent" to that of a Texas school. Furthermore, I believe you cannot do any rotation in Texas as a foreign student and become licensed. I believe this is correct, but let me check with her again and post. Hope this helped.
I know that a student from a European program (English) not approved by Cali at this time, is doing residency or recently completed a FP residency at Baylor in Texas. I do not remember the school but I am sure this is true. |
