The two year premedical component is conducted at the MEERC campus in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is conducted in affiliation with Xavier University School of Medicine.

Application Process

All Students will be enrolled in St. Christopher’s College of Medicine for the transitional semester. Dual enrollment with XUSOM will take place in September. All applications should be given to the local Island Directors as soon as possible for processing. There will be a fixed number of seats available for each class. The interview and acceptance process will begin on each island in February. Documentation such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, good standing letters will be required. Exceptions to this rule will be on a case-by-case basis. Complete your application to the best of your ability.

So, if I get this correctly, one does 2 years premed in Toronto and then fly over to Luton (for how long?) then go to Bonaire? then the states?

Or this? http://www.meerc.com/snews.htm

** MEERC will accept transfer students from accredited WHO listed medical schools to any semester in XUSOM's MD programs, including clinical rotations in ACGME accredited hospitals in the US.
Is a MEERC education even recognized by other universities and licensing boards?

Why would someone risk 6 years and ~$200K for such an educational path to practice medicine?

Affiliated

I thought everyone knew St. Chris and Xavier are affiliated. As far as sharing schools, I never heard of anyone coming to Bonaire. If you didn't know well I should have said something sooner. My fault.

That is soo funny.....yah London is a city just outside Toronto but more then 20 minutes away....depend on where you are living in Toronto....but yah its called London, Ontario......Canadians loved U.K soo much that they named a whole city after it.....

I knew that St. Chris and Xavier was affliated...but that is when i visited them in Toronto...they told me soo..but the affliation is not worth anything.....Xavier is an independent school.....will not benefit from St. CHis.....

school consolidation

It is nice to see another school forum to read through. As I was going through these and previously directed threads it also looked like All Saints on Aruba and Xavier on Bonaire were owned by the same organization. Perhaps I misread it. If they are wouldn't it make sense for them to consolidate in one place (probably better on Aruba) and build a larger one site school rather than two diluted schools. What is needed in the offshore schools now is investment in infrastructure, larger number of faculty members working together in the same facility and student cohesiveness.

Re: school consolidation

well the initial plan was the person who opened up all saints would have been running the xavier campus of aruba...but there was a fuss....and to sum it up they broke up...so that person opened up his own school all saints...and now the xavier campus in aruba is just an idea.....hope this helps clarriy some of the confusion between all saints and xavier aruba campus....

No one from any part of xavier has even been to Luton that I know of. If there is some sort of exchange like that, it has never been used.

You are right.....the Xavier management is just using St. CHris name to get students.....they have no affliation..............like Saba and MUA has the same owners....Xavier and St. Chris are two independent schools.....well there is no point in Xavier to have affliation with school like St. Chris which is still new as Xavier and face same problems that a new school faces........
