NY state approval???

I know this topic has been discussed before, but after much searching I have never come across what the actual criteria for approval is. I know this is a new school but what does it take for a school to be ready to apply for a site visit? Also, just in case approval is not in the near future, can one transfer to a NY-state approved school for >12 wks clinicals and do residency in NY even though the basic sciences coursework was done at a non-NY state approved school?

based on what i saw at aua, you don't need very much to be ny approved

all that is needed is a library with around 100 books, teachers who are qualified to teach, curricula that covers the topics that are should be taught in a medical school, money to pay for the site visit etc. - the most basic stuff

I think the charisma and business relations of the person who has been running AUA, since its inception,is also partly responsible for the pace with which it gained NY approval.Kudos to his vision...

Just as a hypothetical, a student does basic sciences at a non-approved NY school then transfers to do clinical rotations at a NY approved school and receives a degree from that school. Does the NY medical board then forbid the student to become licensed in the state, like CA does, because their basic sciences coursework was done at a non-approved school?
