Information about Housing!

Hello Everyone

I want to inform you all not to get housing through the school! The people that find you housing always take you to either very expensive places, or dangerous areas, or bad landlords (they may not seem bad at first).

Also some of the landlords know that US or Canadian students will pay in dollars so they will charge $765 instead of 765 florin (which would be about $400) and they will rip you off on electricity.

The school housing staff will make commission or get special benefits for taking you to certain apartments.

If you want a good deal you can go to www.arubamatch.com
You can also contact either Albert (his info is listed on arubamatch.com)

If you need any more information please feel free to contact me and I will try to help you out.

Are you a student?
What semester are you?
Which school contact helped you initially with the school arrangement that you got ripped off?
Is the school aware of the rip off issue?
Why would anyone knowingly set you up in a dangerous area?
Were you initially set up in a dangerous place with a bad and greedy landlord? As in elaborate on your own personal experience.

There has been a lot of cases of people stating their own case and using that to discourage others from doing something. We need clear examples.
Did other students have this issue of greedy lanlords in dangerous areas, is this a semester-wide issue or was it just you who had that experience.
Are you promoting arubamatch.com in general. Elaborate on how much better the place you got with them is, compared to what the school set you up for.
Could it be that you have stayed long enough to get to know the area and are able to better choose housing for yourself?

Appreciate the information, just have to sift through it all.

That is alot of detailed information for a student to ask another student. It sounds more like a school official attempting to get information. VMD now takes a very dim view of school officials posing as student posters.

If you are found to be a school official - you may be banned like the ones from CMU. So I think you would care about that blemish on your school's name.

That's a big red flag screaming out "danger, danger! beware!" when a school has to resort to this type of tactic.

For students, there is no need to seriously consider a school which resorts to this type of tactic especially since there are so many others out there.

Look, another one just opened up. SUN St.Kitts & Nevis

dt - I agree good to see the Dr R back in the islands.

A hidden school official would not want to get some of the more rabid VMD posters on their case. Like what happened to RL at CMU or a certain poster at MUA-B.

Yes you got me there Mr Sherlock Holmes. Of course students are usually gullible and do not bother to ask tough questions so of course I have to be a school official. Yes and once you find out about me being a school official you will deny me all access to free food given out here daily on vmd that is so vital to everyone's existence and as a consequence the school will be so blemished they will have to close down in shame. Bravo what a smart moderator.
Yes you are right I will care.

Now that you mention it I certainly see one of the few rabid moderators stalking these forums. Your conduct here deserves an impeachment of your title.
