k its hard to find a place with in walking distance...but its possible. Public transportation sucks. Cabs are expensive, they will charge you about 6 to 10 dollars. Most people live about 5 to 10 min drive from school. So lets say you do live with in walking distance, you stil need a car to go grocery shopping, to run errands, to eat...so your better off getting a car. I think it is necessary. You can buy a car, or rent a car. U can get a car for about 350 to 450 a month. But if ur here for a while,,,then it will add up, so your better of buying a low maintence car for about avg price of 4,000 dollars. there is perks renting,,,no maintence..gas and go, if anything goes wrong it gets fixed. where as if u own a car, then u gotta take care of all the on your own.
